Eyozi's Community Discovery and Scheduled Meetups provide a safe and structured way to connect with other users. The goal is to honor each person's current emotional state and needs, while maintaining clear intentions and healthy boundaries.
1. Age Requirement
All users participating in Eyozi meetups must be 18 years or older. This is to ensure the safety, maturity, and legal clarity of interactions.
2. Safety Protocols for In-Person Meetups
- Meet in public places (e.g. parks, coffee shops, libraries)
- Inform a trusted contact (friend/family) of the time, location, and who you're meeting and encourage them to check in during and after your meetup.
- Bringing a friend is welcomed and recommended, especially for the first in-person meetups.
- Use the Eyozi check-in system before and during the meetup.
- If at any point you feel unsafe, you can discreetly signal through the app and/or end the meetup.
- Have an emergency back-up plan and do not rely on Eyozi if you feel threatened or in danger. Call 911 immediately.
3. Eyozi Check-In System
- At the meeting time established and agreed upon in the Meeting Proposal (Connection Chat), users are prompted to confirm: "I've arrived and feel safe, I've arrived but don't feel safe, I'm running behind."
- 5-10 minutes into the meetup, the app sends a second prompt to check in confirming: "I feel safe, I do not feel safe, I'm still running behind, I decided to cancel the meetup."
- Should a user choose 'I'm running behind', all check-in messages will be delayed 5 minutes.
- Should a user choose 'I don't feel safe' or not check in at all for 15 minutes, a message will post saying 'leave the area immediately and seek a safe location. If you feel threatened call 911 now.' And an alert will be sent to the emergency notification.
4. Consent & Comfort
- All meetups are opt-in and must be mutually agreed upon.
- No one should feel pressured to meet or continue a meetup if they're uncomfortable.
- Users are encouraged set up boundaries / preferences for community meetups.
5. Accountability and Reporting
- Users can report concerns or violations directly in the app.
- Repeated unsafe behavior may result in review or removal from the platform.
- Eyozi prioritizes emotional and physical safety as well as community well-being above all.
Together, these options help foster trust, balance, and genuine community—allowing people to support and be supported, or simply share space as fellow humans.
