Eyozi Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 6, 2026 Last Updated: August 6, 2026 Operated by: Telson Media, LLC ("Telson Media," "Eyozi," "we," "us," "our")
Related notices: This policy covers our general privacy practices. Separate notices govern specific topics:
- Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy — required standalone notice covering check-in and mood information
- Your State Privacy Rights — state-specific disclosures and rights
- Terms & Conditions | Crisis & Emergency Disclaimer | Community Guidelines
1. Scope and What This Covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Telson Media, LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Eyozi — including the Eyozi website at eyozi.app, the Eyozi mobile applications for iOS and Android, and all related services (collectively, the "Services").
This policy applies to:
- Registered users of Eyozi (Standard Plan, Power Plan, Beta Testers)
- Emergency Contacts — people designated by a user who are not themselves Eyozi account holders (see Section 8)
- Visitors to our website who have not created an account
An Eyozi account is available to individuals 13 years of age or older. The paid Power Plan is available only to individuals 18 years of age or older, verified as described in Section 7.1. See Section 15.
2. Plain-Language Summary
This summary is for convenience only.
| Question | Short Answer |
|---|---|
| Do you sell my personal information? | No. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. |
| Do you show me ads? | No. Eyozi has no advertising. |
| Do you read my check-in notes? | Not routinely. Check-in notes are private to your account. See Section 5 for the narrow exceptions. |
| Do you read my chat messages? | Messages pass through an automated filter. Messages matching certain terms are recorded for human review. See Section 4.6. |
| Who sees my mood data? | Only you, plus our staff in the limited circumstances described in Section 5. It is never shown to other users. |
| Does my Emergency Contact see my mood data? | No. They receive only the specific alert information described in Section 8. |
| Can I delete my account? | Yes. See Section 11 — including what we keep afterward and why. |
| Do you track my location? | No. We never access your device's GPS. We use only the city you type in yourself, to show you community members who are roughly nearby. See Section 3.5. |
| Do you scan my face? | Only if you buy the Power Plan. A facial scan is used once to confirm you are 18 or older. We never receive the image, and we never learn your date of birth. Free accounts are never scanned. See Section 7.1. |
| Do you store my ID or my face? | We do not, ever. Our verification provider handles it and tells us only whether you passed. The provider deletes the image and any ID after 6 months. See Section 7.1. |
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account and Identity Information
Collected when you register and maintain your account:
- First name, last name
- Email address
- Username (if you choose one)
- Password — handled entirely by our authentication provider, Clerk. We never see, receive, or store your password.
- Account type (Standard, Power, Beta Tester, Admin)
- Your self-attestation that you are 13 or older, made by accepting our Terms
- Age verification records, for Power Plan users only: whether you were determined to be 18 or older, the date and time of that determination, which method established it (facial scan or identity document), and the reference number our verification provider assigned to the check. We do not receive or store your date of birth, your facial image, or your identity document. See Section 7.1
- Records of your acceptance of our Terms, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Crisis Disclaimer, Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and State Privacy Rights Supplement, with timestamps and the version of the document set you accepted
3.2 Profile and Preference Information
- City or town, and time zone
- Phone number (optional — not required for any feature)
- Your consent to receive SMS text messages, and when you gave it
- How you choose to display your name to other community members
- Interactive Mode selection
- Community Preferences you set: energy level, physical contact comfort level, preferred location types, time preferences, conversation style, and subject-matter interests
Note on subject-matter preferences: Some available options describe personally sensitive topics. Selecting an option is entirely voluntary, and any option you select is visible to other community members as part of Community Discovery. Do not select an option you are not comfortable having others see.
3.3 Check-In and Mood Information
- Mood ratings (1–10 for Standard Plan; 1–100 for Power Plan)
- Energy, stress, and sleep-quality ratings (Power Plan)
- Free-text notes you optionally add to a check-in
- The date and time of each check-in and which time slot it belongs to
- The date of your most recent check-in
This category may qualify as "consumer health data" under the laws of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut, California, and other states. It is subject to additional protections described in our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
3.4 Reminder and Notification Information
- Custom reminder titles, messages, times, dates, and repeat schedules you create
- Mood reminder times and which slots you have enabled
- Your notification channel preferences for each notification category
- Mobile push notification tokens, the device platform (iOS or Android), a device identifier, and when the device was registered and last seen
3.5 Location Information
- City/town you enter, and the time zone derived from it
- Approximate geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) associated with your city, used to filter Community Discovery by distance
- Meetup locations — the venue name, address, and coordinates of any meetup you propose or accept
Coordinates are derived from the city or town you type in yourself. We use them to determine approximate distance between community members and to validate meetup locations.
Neither the Eyozi website nor the Eyozi mobile applications request GPS or location permission from your device. We do not collect precise geolocation. We do not track your device's location, in the background or otherwise. We do not use geofencing.
Because location is derived from a city name rather than your device, it is approximate by design — typically accurate only to the level of a town or city center.
3.6 Community and Communication Information
- Connection requests you send and receive, and their status
- The content of messages you send through Eyozi chat
- Meetup proposals, including proposed date, time, and location
- Your Community Status
- Your Trust Score and the record of trust points awarded between you and other users
- Users you have blocked
3.7 Safety and Check-In System Information
- Whether you have enabled the Morning Check-In Safety System, and your selected alert timeframe
- The timestamp of your last successful morning check-in
- When a missed check-in was logged and when an alert was sent to your Emergency Contact
- Meetup check-in survey responses, including responses to follow-up questionnaires about concerns, safety, or incidents — which may include free-text descriptions of events and of other people
3.8 Emergency Contact Information
Information about a third party you designate. See Section 8 for full detail.
- Emergency Contact's name and email address
- Emergency Contact's phone number (optional, provided by them)
- Their confirmation status, when they accepted the role, their chosen delivery channels, and their SMS consent timestamp
3.9 Payment and Subscription Information
- Plan type (Annual or Lifetime), subscription status, and expiration
- Payment status and date of last successful payment
- Beta code used, if any
- Identifiers assigned by our payment processor, Stripe
We never receive or store your full payment card number, CVV, or bank account details. Stripe processes these directly. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
3.10 Technical and Usage Information
- IP address, recorded in connection with rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Device type, browser type, and operating system
- Time zone offset
- Timestamps of account creation and updates
- Error and diagnostic logs
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or session-recording services. We do not embed tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or social media trackers in the Eyozi website or mobile applications. The technical information described above is used solely for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing errors.
3.11 Information About Other People
When you use certain features, you provide information about people other than yourself:
- Your Emergency Contact's name, email, and possibly phone number
- Descriptions of other users in safety survey responses, questionnaires, and abuse reports
You should only provide another person's contact information if you have a genuine relationship with them and a reasonable basis to believe they would not object.
4. How We Use Your Information
4.1 To Provide the Services
Creating and maintaining your account; storing and displaying your check-ins and trends; delivering reminders; enabling Community Discovery, connections, chat, and meetups; and operating the Interactive Mode and Daily Quote features.
4.2 To Communicate With You
Sending reminders, connection and message notifications, meetup notifications, and system notices — through the channels you have enabled. We also send essential account and transactional messages (such as security, billing, legal changes, and account status) that you cannot opt out of while your account is active.
4.3 To Operate Safety Features
Running the Morning Check-In Safety System; scheduling and delivering meetup check-in surveys; sending alerts to your Emergency Contact when the conditions you configured are met; and processing safety incident reports.
4.4 To Match You With Community Members
Filtering Community Discovery by approximate distance and by the preferences you have set.
4.5 To Calculate Trust Scores
Trust Scores are calculated automatically based on trust points awarded by other users after completed meetups. Your Trust Score is displayed publicly to other community members and cannot be hidden. See Section 13 for more on automated processing.
4.6 To Moderate Content and Prevent Abuse
Messages sent through Eyozi chat are screened by an automated filter that runs entirely within our own systems. This filter checks for personal contact information (which is not permitted in chat) and for certain categories of harmful language.
- Messages containing unambiguous prohibited content are blocked and not delivered.
- Messages matching other monitored terms are delivered normally, but a copy of the message content is recorded so that a member of our team can review the exchange.
We also maintain rate limits, validate email domains for Emergency Contact invitations, and maintain records of users removed from the platform for safety reasons.
We do not send your messages, check-in notes, or any other content you create in Eyozi to any third-party artificial intelligence or content-moderation service. Content moderation is performed in-house. The only automated third-party processing we use anywhere in Eyozi is the age estimation described in Section 7.1, which never touches your messages or your check-ins.
4.7 To Process Payments
Managing subscriptions, processing payments through Stripe, applying beta codes, and handling cancellations and renewals.
4.8 To Improve the Services
Diagnosing errors, monitoring performance and reliability, and understanding aggregate usage patterns.
4.9 To Comply With Law and Protect Rights
Meeting legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our Terms, and protecting the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Telson Media.
5. Who Within Eyozi Can See Your Information
We limit internal access to what is necessary to operate and support the Services.
- Check-in and mood data, including notes: Not routinely accessed. Authorized personnel may access it only to resolve a technical issue you have reported, to respond to your own request, when required by law, or where necessary to address a credible risk to someone's safety.
- Chat messages: Not routinely read. Messages flagged by the automated filter (Section 4.6) are recorded and reviewed by authorized personnel.
- Safety survey and incident responses: Reviewed by authorized personnel as part of safety incident handling.
6. How We Share Information
6.1 We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money or other valuable consideration. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not display advertising in Eyozi.
We do not use, disclose, or sell consumer health data for advertising purposes of any kind.
6.2 With Other Eyozi Users
The following are visible to other community members when your Community Status is set to an active state:
- Your Display Name, in the format you have selected
- Your Community Status
- Your Trust Score
- Your city/town
- Your Community Preferences, including any subject-matter options you selected
- Your approximate distance from other users
Never visible to other users: your mood or check-in data, your notes, your email address, your phone number, your Emergency Contact, or your exact location.
Messages you send in chat are visible to the recipient. Meetup proposals are visible to the person you propose to.
6.3 With Your Emergency Contact
See Section 8.
6.4 With Service Providers
We share information with the following providers, each of which is contractually limited to processing information on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | What They Receive |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication and account security | Name, email, password credentials, authentication events |
| Convex | Database and backend infrastructure | All application data described in Section 3 |
| Vercel | Website and application hosting | Request data, IP address, technical logs |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Name, email, payment details, transaction records |
| Didit (Didit Identity, Inc. and Didit Identity Spain, S.L.) | Age verification for the Power Plan only | An anonymous account reference number, plus the facial scan and, where required, the identity document that you provide directly to them. They do not receive your name, email, or any other Eyozi data. See Section 7.1 |
| SendGrid | Email delivery | Recipient email address, message content |
| Twilio | SMS text message delivery | Recipient phone number, message content |
| Google Maps Platform | Location lookup, address validation, place data | Search queries for cities and venues |
| Expo | Mobile push notification delivery | Push notification tokens, notification content |
| Apple / Google | Mobile app distribution and in-app purchases | Purchase and subscription data, per their own policies |
This is the complete list. We use no analytics provider, no advertising network, and no data broker.
We do not send your check-ins, notes, messages, or any other content you create in Eyozi to any third-party artificial intelligence or content-moderation service. Content moderation is performed entirely within our own systems. The one automated third-party process we use is the age estimation performed during Power Plan verification, which is applied to a facial scan you provide directly to our verification provider and to nothing else. It is described in Section 7.1.
6.5 For Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law or legal process; to enforce our Terms; to investigate suspected fraud or safety violations; or to protect against imminent harm to any person. Where legally permitted, we will attempt to notify you of a legal demand for your information.
6.6 Business Transfers
If Telson Media is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy, and you will have the opportunity to delete your account first.
7. Sensitive Information
Several categories we collect are treated as "sensitive" under one or more state laws:
-
Check-in and mood information (health status inferences)
-
Approximate geolocation derived from the city you enter (we do not collect precise geolocation)
-
Contents of your messages, where we are not the intended recipient
-
Subject-matter preferences that may reveal health, sexual orientation, or similar characteristics
-
Biometric information, in the narrow circumstance described in Section 7.1
We use sensitive information only for the purposes described in Section 4 — that is, to provide the Services you requested, to operate safety features, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics about you, and we do not disclose it for any purpose that would require offering you a right to limit that use under California law.
You may withdraw consent, delete data, or close your account at any time as described in Sections 9 and 11.
7.1 Biometric Information and Age Verification
This section applies only if you choose to purchase the Power Plan. If you use Eyozi on a free Standard Plan account, nothing in this section happens to you. No facial scan is ever performed on a free account, and you cannot be required to undergo one.
Why this happens at all. The Power Plan unlocks Community Discovery, private messaging, and in-person Meetups. Those features put adults in contact with one another, in private and in person. We require verified proof of adulthood before we sell access to them.
What is captured. When you begin the age check, our verification provider captures a photograph of your face together with a liveness scan, which confirms a live person is present rather than a photograph or recording. From that image the provider derives a facial geometry template and produces an estimated age. If the estimate is not decisive, you are then asked to photograph a government-issued identity document, from which the provider reads your date of birth.
You provide all of this directly to the provider. The capture happens on the provider's own screens, not within Eyozi.
The single purpose. The facial scan, the facial geometry template, and any identity document are used for one purpose only: determining whether you are 18 years of age or older. They are not used to identify you, to confirm your name, to match you against any database or watchlist, to build a profile, to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, or for any security, advertising, marketing, or research purpose.
What Eyozi receives. Our provider reports back to us only:
- whether you are 18 or older
- the date and time of that determination
- which method established it (facial scan or identity document)
- a reference number for the check
We never receive your facial image, your facial geometry template, your identity document, or your date of birth. We never store them, because we never have them. Your date of birth is read by the provider, used once to calculate whether you meet the age requirement, and never transmitted to us.
We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric information, and we never disclose it to any third party other than the verification provider that captures it. We would disclose it beyond that only if compelled by valid legal process, or where a subject has consented.
Retention by our provider. Our verification provider retains the records it collects — the facial image, the facial geometry template, and any identity document — for 6 months from the date of the check, and then permanently destroys them. They are destroyed sooner if you request it, or if the purpose for collecting them is satisfied earlier. The provider is contractually restricted to processing this information solely on our behalf and for the purpose stated above. Its retention of biometric information is in every case further capped by applicable biometric-privacy law where that law requires earlier destruction.
After 6 months, no facial image, facial geometry template, or identity document relating to your check exists at Eyozi or at our provider. All that remains anywhere is the four-item result described above, which contains none of them.
Where it is processed. Our verification provider processes and stores this information on servers in the European Union. This is the one category of information that leaves the United States. See Section 16.
Your choices. The age check is entirely optional, because the Power Plan is entirely optional. Declining it costs you nothing you already have — your account, your check-ins, your Emergency Contact, and the Morning Check-In Safety System all continue to work exactly as before. There is no way to reach the age check other than by choosing to buy the Power Plan.
Withdrawal and deletion. You may ask us to have your verification records deleted from the provider's systems at any time by emailing info@eyozi.life. Deleting them does not revoke a verification you have already passed, and does not affect your Power Plan access.
Result records. The four items listed above under "What Eyozi receives" are kept for the life of your account and are retained after account deletion. Verification is one-time and permanent, and retaining the outcome is what prevents a person who has already passed from being asked again, and prevents a person who was determined to be underage from immediately re-registering. See Section 10.1.
8. Emergency Contacts
The Emergency Contact feature involves a person who is not an Eyozi user, so it deserves separate explanation.
8.1 If You Designate an Emergency Contact
You provide their name and email address. You should have their permission before doing so. We send them a one-time invitation email explaining the role and what alerts they may receive.
No alerts are sent to anyone who has not affirmatively confirmed the role.
8.2 If You Have Been Named as an Emergency Contact
- What we collect about you: your name and email address (from the user who named you); your phone number, if you choose to provide it; your delivery channel preferences; and the timestamps of your confirmation and SMS consent.
- What we send you: alerts that a user has missed a safety check-in, has not completed a meetup safety survey, has signaled they feel unsafe during a meetup, or has manually sent an emergency ping. Alerts may include the user's name, time zone, the timestamp of their last check-in, and — for meetup-related alerts — the meetup location.
- What we never send you: the user's mood ratings, check-in notes, message content, or any other account data.
- Your control: every alert includes a permanent management link. From it you can change your delivery channels, update your phone number, or change your alert email address. Email changes are verified before taking effect — alerts continue to the existing address until the new one confirms.
- Your right to decline or resign: you are never obliged to accept, and you may leave at any time. If you simply never confirm the invitation, no alert is ever sent to you. From the link in any invitation or alert email, you can decline the role or resign it yourself, immediately and without anyone's permission. Doing so stops all further alerts to you, deletes your contact information from the account that listed you, and notifies that user. You may also ask us directly at info@eyozi.life. While you hold the role, the same link lets you turn the email or text channel on or off, though at least one must stay on.
- SMS consent: we only send you text messages if you personally provide your number and consent. The designating user cannot enable text messages on your behalf.
9. Your Choices
- Notifications: control email, SMS, and push delivery per category in Notification Preferences. Turning off all channels stops non-essential messages.
- SMS: requires both a phone number and your explicit consent. Withdraw by removing your number, turning off SMS, or replying STOP.
- Push notifications: control through your device settings or in-app preferences.
- Location: you may change or remove your city at any time. Community Discovery and meetup features require approximate location to function — if you remove it, those features will not work. This is a functional limitation, not a penalty: we cannot show you nearby community members without knowing roughly where you are. All other Eyozi features, including check-ins, trends, reminders, and the Daily Quote, continue to work normally.
- Community visibility: setting your Community Status to "Not Available" removes you from Community Discovery.
- Check-ins: entirely voluntary. You are never required to log a mood or complete an optional metric.
- Cookies: we use only cookies strictly necessary for authentication, session management, and security. We use no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
10. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active, and afterward as described below.
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile information | Life of the account, then deleted on account deletion |
| Check-in and mood entries, including notes | Retained for the life of the account, and deleted on account deletion or on a verified deletion request. Nothing ages out — see Section 10.2 |
| Custom reminders and notification preferences | Life of the account; erased when a deletion request is made and not restored if the deletion is cancelled |
| Emergency Contact information | Until removed by the user, the contact resigns from their own link, or the account is deleted |
| Chat messages | Deleted with the conversation they belong to — at the 3:00 AM daily reset, when an unanswered connection request expires, or when you request account deletion, whichever comes first. Nothing is kept in the other person's history. The one exception is a message flagged by our content filter, below |
| Connections, community status, community preferences, chats | Reset daily at 3:00 AM local time. Connections and their messages are deleted, not archived |
| Meetup and safety survey records | Retained after account deletion where necessary for safety, incident, and legal recordkeeping |
| Flagged message records | Retained after account deletion, including a copy of the message content — see below |
| Removed-user records | Retained indefinitely after account deletion — see below |
| Age verification result (outcome, date, method, reference number) | Retained for the life of the account and after account deletion — see Section 10.1 |
| Facial image, facial geometry template, and identity document | Never held by Eyozi. Held by our verification provider and destroyed 6 months after the check — see Section 7.1 |
| Payment and transaction records | Retained as required by tax, accounting, and anti-fraud obligations, typically seven years |
| Rate-limiting and technical logs | Short retention, automatically expired |
10.1 Information Retained After Account Deletion
We want to be explicit about this, because it is the exception to deletion:
-
Flagged message records. If a message you sent was flagged by our content filter for human review, we retain a copy of that message's content along with the sender and recipient identifiers, even after account deletion. A safety flag with no content cannot be reviewed.
-
Records of users removed for safety reasons. If an account is removed from Eyozi for a safety or conduct violation, we retain the name, email address, phone number, and reason for removal — in both hashed and original form — indefinitely. This prevents a removed user from returning under a new account and is necessary to protect other community members.
-
Meetup and incident records where retention is necessary to protect the safety of the other participant or to comply with legal obligations.
-
Age verification results. The four items described in Section 7.1 — outcome, date, method, and reference number — survive account deletion. This is deliberate. Retaining that a person was determined to be under 18 is what stops them re-registering immediately and buying access to features reserved for adults. Retaining that a person passed means they are never made to repeat the check. These records contain no facial image, no identity document, and no date of birth.
We retain this information because we have a compelling need to protect the safety of other users and to prevent, detect, and investigate serious misconduct. Most state privacy laws expressly permit retention on this basis notwithstanding a deletion request.
10.2 Your Check-In History Is Kept
Check-in entries — including mood, energy, stress, sleep, and any notes you attached — are kept for as long as your account exists. Nothing is deleted on a timer, and no entry ages out.
This is deliberate. Your check-in history is yours, and it is what gives your Mood Trends and your Mood-Log Streak their meaning. A record of how you have actually been over months and years is worth more than a rolling window, and we would rather you keep it than have us decide when it stops mattering.
You remain in control of it. Your check-in history is deleted when you delete your account, and you may ask us to delete it at any time without closing your account, using the Delete right in Section 12. We will confirm your identity first and respond within the timeframe in Section 12.3.
Eyozi does not currently offer a self-service data export tool. If you would like a copy of your check-in history, email info@eyozi.life and we will send it to you in a machine-readable format at no charge (see Section 12).
11. Deleting Your Account
You may request deletion at any time from your account settings or by emailing info@eyozi.life.
Before you request deletion, understand what happens immediately:
- Your custom reminders, notification preferences, and Emergency Contact designation are erased right away
- If you cancel the deletion request before it completes, none of that is restored — you will need to set it up again
- Your account enters a pending-deletion state for a grace period before permanent deletion
You have 30 days to change your mind. Your account remains in a pending-deletion state for 30 days after you submit the request. During that window you may cancel the deletion and keep your account. After 30 days, deletion proceeds automatically and cannot be reversed.
Your connections and their messages are deleted as soon as you submit the request, not at the end of the 30 days. This is deliberate: the conversation belongs to a connection that is ending either way, and it is the same rule the 3:00 AM daily reset applies. After the 30 days elapse, deletion completes and we remove your account and check-in data, subject to the exceptions in Section 10.1.
12. Your Privacy Rights
We extend the following rights to every Eyozi user in the United States, regardless of the state you live in and regardless of whether your state's law requires it.
| Right | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Know / Access | Get confirmation of whether we process your information, and a copy of it |
| Correct | Correct inaccurate personal information |
| Delete | Request deletion of your personal information, subject to Section 10.1 |
| Portability | Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format |
| Opt out of sale/sharing | We do not sell or share for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may confirm this with us |
| Limit use of sensitive information | Direct us to limit use of sensitive information to what is necessary to provide the Services |
| Withdraw consent | Withdraw any consent you previously gave, such as SMS consent |
| Non-discrimination | We will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right |
| Appeal | Appeal any denial of a request |
12.1 How to Exercise Your Rights
- Email: info@eyozi.life
- In-app: account settings
Eyozi does not currently provide a self-service tool for downloading your data. Access and portability requests are fulfilled manually by our team. Email us and we will compile your information and send it to you in a machine-readable format within the timeframe in Section 12.3, at no charge. Requiring you to ask does not limit your right — it only affects how the request is processed.
12.2 Verification
We will verify your identity before acting on a request, generally by confirming control of the email address on the account. For deletion or access to sensitive information we may require additional confirmation. We will not require you to create an account solely to submit a request.
12.3 Response Timeline
We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you within that 45-day window and may extend by an additional 45 days.
12.4 Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent. We may require proof of authorization and may require you to verify your own identity directly.
12.5 Appeals
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing info@eyozi.life with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to appeals within 45 days with a written explanation. If we deny your appeal, we will provide you with a method to contact your state Attorney General.
12.6 Universal Opt-Out Signals
We honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), where technically feasible. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, such a signal does not change our practices — but we recognize and respect it.
State-specific rights and disclosures — including for California, Washington, Nevada, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, Oregon, and other states — are set out in our State Privacy Rights Supplement, which forms part of this Policy.
13. Automated Processing and Trust Scores
Eyozi calculates a Trust Score automatically. Points are awarded when another user, after a completed meetup, indicates they trust you. Points from a given user are counted only once.
- Your Trust Score is displayed publicly to other community members and cannot be hidden
- A Trust Score cannot be decreased by any action of another user
- You cannot edit your own Trust Score
We do not use profiling to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning you, such as decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, education, or healthcare.
Automated content filtering (Section 4.6) may block a message from being delivered. You may contact us to contest any such decision.
14. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting staff access, authentication managed by a specialist provider, rate limiting and abuse prevention, and tokenized time-limited links for Emergency Contact management.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
14.1 Breach Notification
If we become aware of a breach of security affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law, without unreasonable delay. Notice will describe what happened, what information was involved, what we are doing, and what you can do.
15. Age Requirement
Eyozi has two age requirements, and they work differently.
An Eyozi account requires you to be 13 or older. This is self-attested — you confirm it by accepting our Terms, and we do not verify it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly and terminate the account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact info@eyozi.life immediately.
The paid Power Plan requires you to be 18 or older, and this we do verify before taking any payment, as described in Section 7.1. Community Discovery, messaging between users, and Meetups are Power Plan features, so no user under 18 can be discovered by other users, exchange messages, or arrange a Meetup through Eyozi.
15.1 Users Aged 13 to 17
A user aged 13 to 17 may hold a Standard Plan account only if a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to our Terms on their behalf, as required by Section 3.1 of the Terms and Conditions.
A parent or legal guardian may contact us at info@eyozi.life at any time to review the personal information we hold about their minor, correct it, request its deletion, or close the account. We will verify the request before acting on it.
The information we collect from a minor is the same information described in Section 3 for any Standard Plan user, minus every category that only a Power Plan user can generate: no community profile, no messages, no meetup records, no Trust Score, and no age verification or biometric information of any kind.
16. Users Outside the United States
Eyozi is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you access Eyozi from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
One exception runs the other way. If you purchase the Power Plan, the age verification described in Section 7.1 is performed by a provider that processes and stores that information on servers in the European Union. This applies to the facial scan, the facial geometry template, and any identity document — none of which we ever receive. Every other category of information described in this Policy is processed in the United States.
Eyozi is offered only to residents of the United States. We do not offer the Services to, and do not knowingly accept registrations from, residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
If we begin offering Eyozi outside the United States, we will update this Policy and provide the additional disclosures those jurisdictions require before doing so.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date.
For material changes — such as new categories of information, new purposes, or new categories of recipients — we will provide notice through the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and where required by law we will obtain your consent. We will not apply materially different practices to previously collected information without notifying you.
Prior versions are available on request.
